Have you seen them?

I consider myself to be a novice movie buff. I say novice because there are just some movies I either don't have the patience, attention span or desire to sit through. In the alternative, there are also movies I didn't want to watch (3:10 to Yuma) or (Alice in Wonderland) that I actually really enjoyed.Of course there have also been those I was excited for (Corpse Bride) or (Battle Los Angeles) and do not reccomend. The fact of the matter is, movies are as important to me as music and I enjoy a diverse variety.
A few months ago while procrastinating working I stumbled across Yahoo's list of "100 Movies To See Before You Die: Modern Classics, which ranges from 1990 to 2009. I figured since I love movies so much I'd make it a point to watch all of them, even if they didn't seem like something I'd enjoy. Fortunately for me, I've seen, and even own, several of the selections such as Borat, Donnie Darko, and Mulholland Drive. I still have 70 to go.

After further work procrastination I also came across their All Time Greats list which spans movies from 1931 to 2003. I plan to watch these as well. However, this list may create some difficulty. Especially with the movies that are from the 30's and 40's. Still, that's going to be half the fun.

What are some of the movies that you'd rank as "must see"?

  1. American History X is a great movie. Monty Python speaks for itself. Muppets. 'nuff said. As for the other two, I should probably get around to seeing those.
