I want my mTV

I'll admit it. I love TV but I'm not obsessed with it like Ellen Burstyn in Requiem For A Dream (cult classic if you ask me). However, I do acknowledge that my TV life would be in shambles without my trusty DVR. As a side note, if you don't have some type of DVR device, you're missing out.

I like to refer to my DVR as my personal assistant. His name is Todd. Joke all you want, as gay as the name is, Todd is THE man.. err... device. He keeps all my favorite shows or anything else that has tickled my entertainment fancy on a nice organized, structured schedule until I'm ready. We've had scheduling conflicts (double, even triple, bookings) in the past but we've always resolved them. And with the new selections he's got scheduled for this fall, I'm kind of excited. Fortunately I've kicked my reality TV addiction, although I do find myself relapsing into Kardashian territory during moments of supreme boredom.

First and foremost...
This is by far one of the best shows on the tube, even it is is on a premium channel. If you're not watching - start. It's beyond addictive. October 2nd I get my fix.

Glee. Yea... I watch this. I completely admit when this show first came out I thought it was the stupidest thing ever and refused to watch it. Then there was Madonna. The Madonna episode pulled me in. What, with it's black and white cinematography and cone bras and ode to all things the material girl loves. I've been riding this kiddie-coaster ever since.

Sons of Anarchy  When my favorite ex-roommate suggested I watch this I was against it. What did he know anyway?! (He also got me hooked on Dexter. I should just accept his TV suggestions without question.) SOA? Obsessed! I've "missed" the first 3 episodes due to this crazy thing I do called life but ever-ready Todd has assured my SOA will be waiting when I'm ready.

Vampire Diaries The vampire-loving, grew-up-on-Buffy, I-want-an-Edward-of-my-own girl in me loves this show. It's semi-suspenseful (for a CW show) and although these kids are clearly sophmores and juniors in high school I never tire of the fact that they are dressed better, have a more refined vocab, and are the model pre-young adult that I wasn't. Plus? Damon and Stefan are really hot.

Pretty Little Liars Again, these damn high school dramas pull me in. Clearly these are my guilty pleasure.

New Girl I'm looking forward to this simply for my lust for Zooey Deschanel. To me, she screams Katy Perry's little sister. Plus, the previews looked funny. I'm hoping it's a keeper.

House 'Nuff said

The League This show is just classically funny. Bravo FX, bravo.

Family Guy Again, 'nuff said.

As fall TV is in full effect I'll be spending my awesome weekend catching up with Todd. We have lots to go over.

  1. Not only do I not have a DVR, but I don't have a TV. If I did I would probably be like the woman in Requiem For A Dream.
