Hakuna Matata

Now that I've spent the better part of my morning working catching up on all of your blogs I can inform you all of the insanely awesome weekend I had... being productive. It's better this way. The next 2 weekends are going to be a whirlwind. So, what nonsense do I want to discuss today?

Last year I decided to rebuild my classic Disney collection. All my favorites from when I was a kid. Sadly, VHS just didn't make it to the 21st century so I obviously need to re-buy everything on DVD. Which is better because now they're "digitally remastered and restored". Superb. After a long, long wait the Lion King has finally found its way out of the vault. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Much to the enjoyment of my mother and I we'll refresh our memories and continue quoting this back and forth whenever appropriate. It's bad. I still need to get Dumbo, especially because I've never seen it. And I need the Fox and the Hound. Because it's cute. And it makes me cry. Fucking Disney. And Lady & the Tramp comes out 2/7/12. Consider it bought.

Next Monday is my cooking class and I'm looking forward to it. We'll be learning about using in season ingredients to make something. I'm guessing we're going to be talking about zucchini and the like.

My Jamaica trip is now 5 months away and I'm still not ready. No passport and no plane tickets. In my defense I'm still playing catch up from changing jobs. However, I made a nice indent on my credit card so I'm hoping to buy my tickets by the end of next month. The passport can wait... at least until the end of February. $135 for a paper book with my picture in it? What a waste. But let's focus on the positives here. I can now go to Oktoberfest. And to Pamplona to run with animals that would rather trample me. And I can go see the ossuary! Ok maybe $135 for awesome experiences is worth it. Actually, I know it's worth it. I just think Uncle Sam is an asshole.

Readers, I need your opinion!!  I received my invite to my company's annual Christmas party. This would be my first time at a company party so I will be googling things on "etiquette" and all that other bullshit my gray matter has never experienced.  So....

Do I go???

  1. Lion king is one of my fav movies!

and do go to your company party. it could be fun! just don't do anything your mom wouldn't do... ;)

  2. Company party means free food and it's usually good food. Go!
