50 Shades of Distraction

The official countdown has begun!
In 8 days I graduate...

I'm off from work in order to go to school and pick up all my graduation swag. I also plan to talk with one of the reps from Montclair to get an idea of what my schedule could look like for the fall. This entire moment has been 10 years in the making. I'm pretty sure I'll probably cry. I'll regale you all with my emotional nonsense the day before... and probably after. On a side note I'm becoming increasingly anxious (read: annoyed) that I haven't been "officially" accepted to Montclair yet. I'm a transfer so I know I'm in but I still need the official green light. And here we are... still waiting. I am not blessed with patience.

As you may have gathered from the title I've finally read 50 Shades of Grey. I'm going to blame it for my reading and commenting absence. Look, I don't care what critics are saying - I loved this book! It was funny, sexy, dark and erotic. I found it to be couldn't-put-it-down great. I can't wait to dive into the second one. I may just forgo waiting to borrow it and buy it on my Kindle. I need to know what happens.

MBFF, Boyfriend and I went to see the Avengers last night. Oh Thor. You with your golden locks and devilish gaze. And you Iron Man with your sarcastic wit and calm demeanor. I shall forever be in lust with you both. The fight scene between the two of them? I could hardly stay in my seat. Oh yeah, the movie itself was good too. Should you go see it, stay until after the main credits. (You should already know this. It is a Marvel movie) There are two post movie scenes. The first one is important, and then after the rest of the credits there's another scene that's simply for comedic value.

Shit... I should probably post this and get off Pinterest.

  2. CONGRATULATIONS!!! )On your graduation, not your smut reading, just to clarify!) I recall a post where you were beyond frustrated thinking that you weren't going to get to graduate on time and such...so glad that this post is proof positive of good things turning out for you!
As for 50 Shades, I finally broke down and started reading it too. It's an easy read, has some good sex scenes, but other than that...I'm underwhelmed. I'll give a chance and read it all the way through, and then the other 2 because I bought them all at the same time. It's a nice distraction as you say, but I prefer my sex in real life!

  3. Congratulations my dear!

Maybe it's because I started reading it solely for the purpose of making fun of it, but so far, there is absolutely nothing about this book I can get behind. Ana is a whiny twat. I pretty much hate her. I am, however, LOVING writing the recaps. I crack myself up, which I probably shouldn't admit.

  4. Well you should post this, but there's no need to go off Pinterest. I'm glad you enjoyed your new book and movie :) I've heard you need to keep watching after the credits but I've not seen it yet so I can't see past the credits. I really hope you get that green light soon enough.

Oooh we have yet to see the avengers and we need to get on that. Maybe on the weekend.

  6. Congratulations on your soon to be graduation! I haven't seen The Avengers yet, but I have to agree that Thor is quite dreamy. :)

  7. Congratulations on your graduation! I hope you got everything you needed and that you've now been officially accepted by Montclair.  I don't have any patience either so can imagine what you're going through. I haven't heard of either the book or movie you're talking about - but they sound fun!

  9. She does bother me. Her inner monologue, the back and forth with her conscience, yea, she drives me nuts.

  10. We were the ONLY ones in the theater waiting for the second post-credit. It was funny. But also embarrassing because the lady sweeping the theater had seen it before and knew what we were waiting with breathless anticipation for. And it was....schwarma. Which was hilarious. But also made me feel kinda sheepish.
