I don't mean to brag but I have to say this was one of the best weekends I've had in a very long time. I had company all weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. From laughs and jokes with old (and new) friends Friday night to family time on Saturday and Sunday it was an all around success.

Friday night I met up with my friend Joe from VA, his girlfriend and 2 other friends in the city. I haven't seen him since 2010 so it was a long overdue reuniting.

It's kind of ironic, I met Joe through an ex and he and I really connected. We both have the same relaxed, mellow personality so conversation, laughs and good times just flow. (Sexual chemistry doesn't hurt either)

We called it a night around 1am and started heading back to the hotel - in the rain. Being the city gal I am, I had a compact umbrella with me. It's not getting wet that's the problem. Once it's done for the night, I must protect my hair! After we got back to the hotel I apparently wasn't thinking and broke the cardinal rule, beer before liquor....

...and woke up feeling like I was run over. I was so annoyed with myself. I never break that rule for that very reason and here I was, sick, only from not following it. Lesson learned I suppose.

The fam came down Saturday afternoon and we spent the day doing "family stuff". I took tons of pictures, of course.

We played "dress up"...

And ate bunnies...

And went swimming...

Tried on some of Uncle Billy's clothes...
And then, among all the cuteness and fun there were two moments that outshone all others.
 Baby's First Fudgsicle...

At first I was just dabbing it on her tongue for taste. Then, like a typical baby, she decided she wanted to eat it. And since I have to have a million pictures of her, I let her hold it while my mom snapped away.

CJ peeing my pants...

I'm always letting her be naked for as much as possible a little while when I change her because, c'mon, who doesn't like being naked. Plus I like to pinch her little butt cheeks.

So here we are diaper off, in my lap, working on the shirt and I'm all "oh she never pees on me, it's fine".

Famous. Last. Words.

I apologize for the close up of my lady parts...

(In case you're wondering, this won't keep me from letting her be naked. Or teaching her to take off her diaper when she gets older.)

Sunday we went into the city. CJ's first trip to NYC! Granted, she's not going to remember it, but that's not the point. We spent the day in Times Square at Toys R Us, the Disney store; M&M World, the Hershey store, and all over. I can't even remember how many times people stopped to compliment on how cute she is. Duh...

With Uncle Billy in Times Square

I liked M&M's before they were cool...

Still, it was a great day and I absolutely loved having them here. Talk of them moving closer has been thrown around a lot and truthfully, I would really like that. As it is they're 3 hours away. Even if they moved somewhere that was still an hour from me it would be a lot easier to see them more often. Hopefully that works out.

Enough about me...

How were your weekends?

  1. Aw sounds like a good time! That baby is LOVING that fudgsicle hehehe.

  2. Hehe that does sound like a whole lot of fun. I feel sorry for the baby though being dressed up and everything. I guess she's not quite ready for fudgsicles yet either. I'm wondering just how it got above her eye O_O Oh and the pee is just perfectly placed. I wonder if "A baby did it" actually works as an excuse.

  3. Now the Internet has a picture of you looking like you peed your pants. That is awesome beyond words. Even more awesome than a baby eating a fudgsicle, which is a lot funnier than I thought it would be.

  4. Yay for all these pictures! Thank you :) What a sweet and adorable baby (duh) lol... No, seriously, she's absolutely beautiful. And your lady parts picture really cracked me up - that was just too funny.

It's wonderful to hear about your fun times. Saturday was a good day for me because I had a family birthday party in the morning - and then my first ever karaoke that night. I didn't sing though... didn't know any of the songs lol. I have a lot to learn ;)

  5. I've been TO kareoke but I've never got up to do it. I should really change that. Maybe this year's birthday??

  6. Most people believed otherwise saying not to blame it on the baby, but honest! She did it. She LOVED that fudgsicle! Apparently it's good for developing oral motor skills.

  7. I think she peed on you because of how much fudgsicle you got on her face. She's such a cutie!

  8. *I* didn't get it on her face. I was trying to keep it out of her eye. You should be excited, I'm fostering a sweet tooth early!

Those fudgesicle pictures had me dying, but NOTHING compares to CJ peeing your own pants for you. HILARIOUS. You outsourced your pants-peeing. And you know if someone walked in they'd be like "Whoa! You peed your pants! GROSS." and you'd be all "No, it was the baby! I swear" and NO ONE would believe you.

I feel very weird typing all these things at work. But it was TOTALLY worth it.
