Hello Fat Pants

Can you believe it's the last week of November already?! December 1st is this weekend which means there is SO MUCH awesome happening in the next few weeks. It's Monday so it's time to link up with Sami's Shenanigans for the Weekend Update Blog Hop!

First off, how was everyone's holiday/family time??

As for me, it was a jam packed few days.

I snapped this while driving upstate Wednesday afternoon.
Of course once I got home I spent all my time with my niece.
We all know that's the real reason I went home this weekend.

How do I pass up on photo opportunities like this?!

My mom and I made Christmas cookies. I did the decorating but after I got through 75% of them I said screw it. I was tired of standing up and it was taking forever. They still tasted great... and the baby helped.

Chef P at your service!
Overall dinner went well. My parents were relatively fine all day until they sat down. It was the first official holiday without my sister and it was weird to say the least. I think we got through it ok. Next month will be harder.

Since it was P's first Thanksgiving I made sure to give her as many goodies as I could. She liked mashed potatoes and peas. She didn't really like the candied squash or the cranberry. That I gave her just to see the face she'd make.

What she did love - pumpkin pie.

She loved it.

I kind of slacked on Black Friday this year. I didn't have the extra money that I usually do and without my sister, I no longer have a shopping partner. I left the house at 9:40 and was back by 1am. Every year I get myself the 600 TC sheets that Target has on sale. This year I passed but my mom wanted them so I went. Then I went to WalMart to get something they had at a good price for my mom. Then it was the real goal of my Black Friday shopping - Bath & Body Works.

Have you ever been in there for Black Friday??  Holy stock-up sale!

I get coupons from here all the time and any that will be good during Black Friday, I hoard. And then I go balls to the wall since they let me stack them. Do you see that discount total? I live for that. The cashier said I was like one of those extreme couponing people. I corrected her and said "No, no. Only for here."

This year's loot!

Friday night was my 10 year high school reunion... and I didn't go.

Really, I was on the fence about the whole thing. Part of me did want to go as there were some people I would have liked to see. The other part of me didn't see the point in spending $40 to go see the majority of  people that I wasn't even acquaintances with in high school. Yes we're all supposed to be grown adults now but we weren't friends. And with the joys of Facebook, I already know what everyone is doing or where they are or who is married or has kids. So I skipped it...

...and instead 5 friends and I went out for dinner and drinks at Friday's.

This is my kind of reunion.
(it's dark because apparently the iPhone doesn't realize that dim lighting requires a flash)

Sunday afternoon I headed back to NJ expecting a surprise of some sort. The Boyfriend kept telling my there may be a surprise if he gets out of work early enough. For one, don't tell me there's a surprise. It kind of ruins the surprise factor. Two, all I'm thinking is "there's something in my house".

I walked in to find a tree...

which shortly after we turned into this...

 What did you do?

With a special 12/17/12 link up with...

  1. Ooo I love that you guys did christmassy things already! And what an adorable niece!

  2. Those cookies look yummy!!! Babies & kids seriously make all the holidays better!

  3. The tree looks lovely and the baby looks adorable. That's also one hell of a saving you got there. I think if my school held a reunion I wouldn't even consider going. I'm not in any pictures that were taken at that school and I didn't even go to prom or whatever the hell they wanted to call it. I've put that school behind me and it can bloody well stay there.

  4. Your tree looks great, what a fun weekend!

  5. Your post title made me laugh :) you have a great blog!

  6. Oh my gosh, your niece is such a doll!! We don't have any babies in the family any more, just a bunch of bratty-ish kids and teens now so the adorbs pics are done. Glad you have a lovely holiday!

  7. A tree! A tree! I need to get on my GAME and start decking my halls, man. NO HALLS ARE DECKED, I REPEAT, NO HALLS ARE DECKED. NO GAY APPAREL HAS BEEN DONNED.

I'm breaking out the Christmas pajamas this weekend. IT'S ON.

My Thanksgiving was insanely low-key. My mom and brother came up, but my mom got sick (yeah) and Derrick had to work on every day but Friday, so we cooked dinner then...but you can't really convince yourself that it's Thanksgiving if you have it one day late. It was delicious, but it wasn't...IT. The Macy's parade had passed us by. It's shopping time.

I got 2 insanely cute dresses and a skirt in Black Friday online sales, and now I'm playing the refresh-the-track-package-page-every-hour game until they come in.

  8. I'm stopping by from the great CHristmas Tree Linky!! I love your blog. I am a new follower!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!! Your baby is beautiful!!! I'm Hanna and you can find me over at

    xoxoxo Hanna
