Can I Wear That?

Hi loves!

Today I'm taking a half day so I can get to my parents' house at a reasonable time (read: before 8pm).

But, before I go, I want to go over a couple things.

One, there's a new link-up in town compliments of Kelly and Lindsey and I felt the need to join in, especially after my brave fashion statement on Wednesday.

You see, I like fashion. Almost a lot. But there are a lot of things I just won't give in to (white after labor day), or there are things I like but just don't have a clue how to style them. Even with the help of Pinterest.

So, here's the trend I want to try but am just not ready to take the plunge.

To Try or Not To Try

I adore polka dots. But I really haven't worn them since I was a kid. I tried in 2005, but clearly I was ahead of my time then.

I love the color orange and I really like dolmen sleeve shirts. And orange and blue are complimentary right?

Someone tell me this doesn't only look good in my head. I hear it's ok to wear spots and stripes together now. But I just don't know.... And this is why I have yet to jump on the polka dot train!

As for the second thing I have to go over....

It's been a long time coming but it's finally here...

Even better, I have some help from a few special ladies.

Before we get to the goodies I want to take a moment to tell all of you how much I love an appreciate every comment. I started this crazy little blog over a year ago. Unsure of where it would go, unsure if it would even become something.
And it has. Thanks to all of you.

Now, on to the real reason you're all here!

And from moi...

That would be an Almond Oil Hand Cures Minis set from The Body Shop

  2. Woohoo! I entered! :)

And yes, the mixing of patterns is one of those things I can't quite convince myself I can do.

  3. Dots and stripes totally go together, but my recommendation is to go small on one print. Tiny dots on the pants or thin stripes on the shirt. I love pattern mixing, however, I do get strange looks from people sometimes that just don't understand.

  5. Well I'm a Brit so I can't jump in on this one, but I don't think I really have much of a need for a clutch bag or $15 to spend at Starbucks. That's, what, 1 cup of coffee?

No, wait, they don't call it coffee.

Anyway I hope the giveaway goes well :) Also you should try that style, I think it would look alright. But I don't know too much about fashion. My general rule is "If it's black, I'll put it on my back."

  10. Ive been afraid to mix patterns but I do like polka dots. I think polka dots look better on the top rather than the bottom. But that could be because Im a little bootylicious. lol
