Funnies & Fashion

Last Wednesday I had my first day of class. Funny story about that...

Tuesday I had K drive me to school so that I could maybe, hopefully get my $240.75 sticker that says I'm allowed to park on campus. Then I was going to go to my classes and he was going to be an awesome boyfriend (by threat of my mom) and wait on campus for me. Sooo... he parks, I get in line to get my parking pass and I'm watching the minutes tick by as it becomes clear that I'm going to be late on the first day of class. Great.

I get my pass and speed walk my way to my 5:30 class that I am now 15 minutes late too. I approach the door and see that class is in full swing. Except, they're all adults. And my advisor is at the front of the room. I whisper that I'm supposed to be in this room for class and she interrupts me with a "classes don't start until tomorrow". And cue the asshole music. It was still win-win if you ask me. I got my pass, K didn't have to sit on campus for 4 hours, and we went grocery shopping.

Since we're on the subject of school I personally have the hardest time figuring out what to wear. Lame, I know. I'm an adult college student. Why should it matter? It matters because I despise being uncomfortable. It also matters because I rush from work to home to get my car and then rush to get to class on time. My outfit for the day needs to be dual functioning and obviously, comfortable.

This little number is something I'd absolutely live in.

I can't tell you how much I wish this outfit would magically appear in my closet. Let's not discuss the sad factor that I don't already own these pieces. What can I say, I suck at being a girl. What I can tell you is that I need this. So if any of you are feeling extra generous, you know how to find me.

Since I'm not fortunate enough to be able to wear this to work anymore my #OOTD is a little closer to something like this.

Nine to Five by gotjack28 featuring bracelet jewelry

It looks fancy on first glance but I'm a slave to corporate America so I have to wear things like this during the day. However, this is something so basic and "casual-professional" that I can wear it to school as well. That is, when I don't have time to stop home and change into jeans at the very least.

And speaking of clothes, my wardrobe needs some serious overhaulin'. See, I always wanted to be on TLC's What Not to Wear. Not because I don't know what to wear and dress like a 12 year old, it's because I really want that $5 grand Visa card to skip around Manhattan with. My closet is a joke right now. It hasn't seen new clothes since.... maybe June? I've been trying my hardest to keep to spending money on bills and groceries only but dammit mama needs a new pair of shoes... and jeans.. and something in army green.

What fall trends are you looking forward to?

  1. I'm not much of a fashion person really. I buy clothes maybe once or twice a year and only when I really have to. Actually the last time I bought clothes it was a pair of 3/4 length trousers because I liked how comfortable I was in the only pair I had and I liked how cool they kept me during summer. I am quite looking forward to being able to wear my longcoat again though.

  2. I love that Olive jacket! I need to find one like that. Fall trends for me are boots, slouch beanies, and jeans. I am going to start adding more scarves into my wardrobe this season. We shall see how that goes.

  3. when i was in college, i would go to class in my pjs. not kidding either. it got to a point that i would have everything down to the last minute and somehow i didn't factor in getting dressed so i'd just throw on a jacket and run out the door!

  4. I love the first one. That's the only thing I miss about school. School shopping! Now I have no excuse. All I wear is yoga pants every damn day.

  5. Well, I'm liking the royal tones (especially emerald) that I'm seeing, but I don't really plan on buying new fall stuff. I honestly have too many clothes as it it. You should check out Altr'd State! They were having a clearance this week!

  6. I want a black and white striped top! And that amazing back to school bag, which I feel like would double as both a work bag and a weapon to use against muggers.
