Yelp And You Shall Receive

I haven't done a real weekend recap in ages. Mainly because my weekends usually don't have anything interesting going on. But this weekend?! It started Thursday night!

Thursday:
I'm a Yelp elite member and finally went to my first event. A tasting of Red Lobster's new menu items. I made K join too so he could go. The phrase "ate like kings" has never made more sense to me. Seriously, I was in an instant food coma upon leaving. I have days worth of left overs and I had a great evening. If you saw the onslaught of dishes on Instagram, you know how it went. If you missed it, here's a look at our feast.

Top to bottom: Moi with my peach margarita; carrot cake and caramel cheesecake; grilled lobstahh and cheese; Parmesan-crusted chicken alfredo; key lime pie and strawberry cheesecake; shrimp tacos

warm apple crostada & warm chocolate chip lava cookie; lobstahh pizza and tilapia in a bag

Clockwise: Sweet chili shrimp; lobstahh & crab stuffed mushrooms; spicy buffalo bites;
shrimp nachos; lobstahh pizza
All of that? Yummy in my tummy. seriously, it's the best I've eaten in weeks. Except that random trip to Chipotle.

Your girl also won a $25 giftcard for instagramming to the world that K was a Red Lobster virgin. You read that right - he's never been to Red Lobster.

We also got these cute little tote bags. I like that they don't actually say Red Lobster on them. Hello next summer's tote bag!

Friday:
I played hooky because I was up most of the night with a cat sleeping on my head and another crying about he loss of his balls. Friday was movie day. I caught up on SOA season 4, watched Sleepless in Seattle, and cleared out my DVR.

Saturday:
Saturday was a slight recap of Friday. I lounged around and hung out until K got home. Then we made the trip down to Kean to see a friend's cousin play in his college game. I'm actually pretty excited about it because in a few weeks Kean plays MSU and of course I need to support my Redhawks!

Sunday:
MBFF, K and I and another friend went up to Bear Mountain for their annual Oktoberfest. Free admission and all the beer I can drink? I'm all over it! I didn't really take any pictures because sadly, there really wasn't anything to take pictures of. There were craft stands lining one of the walkways and there was a brat/dog stand for food, as well as the main concessions building. When standing in the first line we were probably 5 people behind and the lady tells us they're out of bread. Out of bread?? How does that happen?? It wasn't as exciting as I was hoping it would be but I did try a new beer, Dinkel Acker Oktoberfest, and I bought a scarf. Because the 15 I already own aren't enough.

And here we are at Monday... where the F is my coffee?!

  1. Thursday and Sunday seem like the best days you had. I didn't get up to too much myself, as I barely ever do, but a friend of mine did go to a pretty awesome party.
