Here we are. New year, new posts. I have to say I'm excited for my blog this year. I have a new plan that I've already put into effect. There will be a new design coming later on. And, if I can finally figure it out, a possible name change. CTAM is definitely getting an overhaul this year.

This overhaul isn't simply limited to Le Blog. I'm eager to apply it to my entire life. I'm going to let you in on a little secret... I'm not perfect. Like most people, I have a few many shortcomings. Although I hate the whole "new year, new me" sheep mentality, there's a bit of truth to it. Although I am no different from 11:59 pm to 12:00 am, there is a certain buzz. And not just from all the champagne. To me, it really does signify a fresh start the way September is a new semester, or Monday is a new week. January 1st is the start of new plans, new possibilities and new opportunities to make the life I want for myself.

On Thursday I took one of my first steps by rejoining Weight Watchers. Back in 2009 I lost 35+ pounds using their program. I felt amazing and was so into it... then I pretty much jumped head first off the wagon. I've been tortoise-like in my slow and steady gain and I find myself only 18 pounds away from the girl I was in 2009. And let me tell you, I hate that bitch. I'm excited to be back on the program and I know that there will be ups and downs, good weeks and bad. The point is that I'm doing something.

Staring weight: 189

So here's to making mistakes, learning from them and ultimately making this year a success on MY terms.

  1. I like the CTAM name, don't change that!

  2. Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve! I do love CTAM but after our Twitter convo I understand your reason for wanting change.

  3. This quote is everything! Definitely a great way to look at the act of making mistakes. And I can't wait to see all the blog changes you have in store!

  4. I'm right there with ya on the losing weight deal. I'm not strong enough to do Weight Watchers so right now I'm cutting out alcohol and my daily pumpkin coffees with cream from Dunkin Donuts as well as making better food choices. If I don't kill somebody first, we will see how that goes.

  5. Yay, excited for new things and new changes! And I love that quote. It's like the one about it being okay to be a mess because that means you're living.
