6 Reasons My Mom is Better Than Yours

With Mother's Day coming up this weekend today's post is a bit of a special edition. I had originally planned on writing this post myself but then Mom hijacked my laptop and made her own list... written from my point of view. Since I can't say that I disagree with them, here they are!

1. She's funny (I mean really funny)
Her famous line... "I slay me" Half the stuff we find ourselves in stitches over I can't even recall because it's either nonsensical or you had to be there. And even if you were, you probably wouldn't get it.

2. She loves Disney.
Her tombstone will read Hakuna Matata... among other things. Back in 2012 I had a tattoo done for my mom. I originally wanted it on my wrist but this placement is much better.

Back in February my mom texts me this picture. It took me all of 2 seconds to realize it wasn't mine, but hers. Now we match. :)

3. She had me, right? That has to count for something!
I think this totally counts. No? Fine....

She hates this picture :)

4. She loves the classics (take this as "Gone With the Wind" because frankly, I don't give a damn)
I remember this being on constantly as a teen. It clearly made an impression because it it my absolute most favorite movie of all time. Who do you know that watches a 4 hour movie, for fun? This girl! The best part is, I never tire of it.

5. My mom watches Christmas cartoons every year (even when no one else does)
But wait there's more! Not only does she watch them, she decorates with them.

6. She has ridden an elephant

I really, really want to do this on my own of these days. However, I have an aversion to circuses because I think they're cruel and this is probably as close as I'll ever get.

1) K take horrible pictures; and 2) I realize how this looks. I make no apologies.

And just in case you needed a bonus reason...

7. I will never beat her at scrabble (le sigh)
Seriously, it's just sad. At this point, it's one of my life goals. Just one game. I'm also smart enough to know this will most likely never happen.

Aside from the obvious, what makes your Mom extra special?
