Label Maker

The other day I was thinking about myself. Vain, I know,  but there was a point. We all remember the labels from high school: the jocks, the preps, the band geeks, the stoners, etc. And in some way or another we all probably had our place in one of those groups. I, however, did not.

That's not to say I was a loner, I was incredibly social. Rather than devoting all my time to one set of friends though, I had friends in all the groups.

That led me to thinking about how I have eleventy billion interests and not nearly enough time to fully engage in them all. Other than blogging, here are a few things that I enjoy.

Fitness: This is my current #1 obsession. My inner jock has been coming out in full force lately. I'm so hopped up on lifting, eating clean, and taking care of myself and I love it. Sometimes I think about what I need to do in order to get paid to be in shape. Fitness Jesus is in the hiz-ouse.

Culinary: I love food. Like, really love food. Eating it, making it, experimenting in the kitchen. I don't care what our parents taught us, I have fun with food. Part of me wishes I had discovered this passion a long time ago. Maybe I would/should have gone to school for it. It beats sitting at a desk all day!

Animals: This is one of my huge soft spots. I want to rescue all the strays. And I do mean all  of them. If I could live on a million acres just caring for animals, I'd be all like

Decorating: I'm really not someone that's into trends but I'm loving the DIY obsession that everyone seems to have lately. There's something really bad ass and awesome about knowing you took a pile of shit and turned it into something pretty.

No, I didn't do this. I wish.

Kayaking: I completely fell in love with kayaking over 10 years ago. It's one of the best summer activities to me. A day on the water, catching sun, and working out all at the same time? I long for it. I'd have my own but they're so expensive... and I have nowhere to store it.

See what I mean? And that's not even all of them. I need to find a long lost trust fund, quit my job and live out my days mastering all of my hobbies. Idyllic.

What hobbies do you not have enough time to fully enjoy?
