Rise & Shine

As I've aged gotten older I've realized that skin care is pretty important. I've always been diligent about moisturizing after the shower, and I never go outside with ashy looking feet. It's not cute - on anyone. The thing is, I've also realized how important it is to have a skin care routine. That's not to say that I buy in to a specific line and only use their stuff ::coughMarkKayAvoncough:: but it does mean that I stick with a routine that works for me.

After the birds sing me out of bed and deliver me to the bathroom a la Snow White I hop in the shower and use awesome citrusy smelling body wash because I need to wake up. I use a regular cleanser. I used to be of the mindset that if it wasn't a facial scrub then my face wasn't really getting cleaned. I still use my scrubs, but only 2-3 times a week now.

I actually first used this product as a sample from the Wal*Mart beauty box and immediately fell in love. So much that I actually bought it. This doesn't leave my face feeling dried out, which is always a plus, especially in the colder months.

Post shower, lotion is my BFF. Sometimes I use coconut oil because I stay soft for days, but if I'm in a hurry, regular lotion it is. Since I've recently been using the Vaseline Sprays lotion, this has cut down on my morning bathroom time.

My next facial step is to use a toner. Back in my high school days I was all about the Clean & Clear toner {who wasn't?} but have since graduated to Dickinson's Witch Hazel. I buy the large bottle and fill up a small spray bottle with it. I mist it over my face after I've towel dried and just let it absorb on it's own. However, now I have these!

These are so awesome! I get all the benefits in a spill-free wipe. Plus, one side is textured so that satisfies my scrub desire.

After the witch hazel has absorbed it's time to lube up moisturize. For the longest time I just used whatever but then I discovered Oil of Olay. Okay, I didn't really discover it. My mom used to use this stuff all the time and I remember thinking it was soo grown up and it smelled good. Well, it still smells good.

I buy the one that has sunscreen in it because wrinkles aren't cute and I've caused more than my fair share of sun damage already, although when I was at the Dermatologist last month, she said I'm all good. In any event, I'm trying to be a little more edumacated about it now. Sometimes I buy the store brand {it's the same damn thing!} but I got some samples from the Derm's office and I think I might buy one and switch. We'll see.

6 out 7 days that would be the end of the story. I am way too lazy to be bothered with putting on makeup. However, if I am feeling motivated I move on with my brow pencil, black eyeliner along the top lash, and mascara. If I'm breaking out the Naked palette it's because there's people I'll actually need to interact with.

I broke out the Naked for you guys. Real love.

And that's it! You can call it a 5-minute face if you're into that sort of thing, but let's be real, no makeup takes 5 minutes.
