How I Stay Hydrated in the Winter

This post was inspired by the Honeywell Cool Moisture Humidifer received from Influenster.
All opinions are my own.

All my life I've had to deal with dry skin. Whether it's my legs, elbows, or feet, dry skin has always been a challenge. Winter wreaks havoc on my skin so today I'm going to show you some of the ways I keep hydrated during this season.

ONE: Watch your diet. We constantly hear that you should be eating a diet rich in omega 3s for health reasons, but even more than that, it keeps your skin looking its best. If you're not a fan of eating fish try supplements. I eat fish but take a fish oil supplement just ensure I keep my levels high.

TWO: Aquaphor and/or Eucerin are my go to winter creams. They're both thick and are long-lasting. I use them after my showers while my skin is still slightly damp to lock in moisture. They're also excellent on the feet, followed by a pair of thick socks.

THREE: Use a Humidifier. We all know how dry the air can get indoors during the winter months thanks to the heat. I am always waking up with a stuffy nose or a dry throat in the winter Admittedly, this is the first time I've used a humidifier thanks to Influenster.

The Cool Moisture Humidifier is super easy to use. You simply fill the tank, set it to low or high and let it work its moisturizing magic. I use it at night and I've already noticed that the air is less dry and my skin doesn't feel flaky or itchy in the mornings.

FOUR: Go outside. It sounds a little counter-intuitive given the harsh conditions outside but you should bundle up and get outside for some fresh air at least once a day during the winter months.

FIVE: Last, and honestly, probably most important, drink lots of water. Saying hydrated from the inside is one of the best things you can do for yourself year round.

As much as dry skin and winter are a challenge for me I know that if I stay hydrated I'm doing my skin, and myself, a favor. Is this a problem you have? What do you do to stay hydrated? Anything I should add?

And of course, K turns 35 today!!  So happy birthday to him!  xoxo  {not that he reads my blog -_-}
