The 411

I'm pretty sure I've fallen down a rabbit hole. I don't know up from down and every day is ending in a blur of sleepiness.

What's the deal? Well, I'll fill you in!

Watching: I'm not really a TV person but if I can catch Triple D (Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives) then I'm a happy girl. There's also been a lot of Shark Tank.

Listening: Would you believe me if I said techno!? It's been pretty great to listen to at the gym in the morning and really ups my energy.

Reading: I'm reading my friends newest book - Last Night in Laguna - but other than that I don't think books and I are getting along right now. I'm so behind and nothing I pick up is holding my interest.

Playing: Pokémon Go. I know.. I know! I'm embarrassed and shamed just typing it out for all of you. I downloaded it to see what all the fuss was about and several captured Pokémon later.... I never deleted it. Rest assured, I'll probably be bored with it in another week.

Creating: My empire. I don't talk about my business much on the blog, but I will say that business is good, I have regular clients, work is increasing, and I'm still so, so happy I took this path.

Feeling: That time is passing by too quickly. Little Miss starts school this fall. I turn 32 in November. I just don't understand where the time has gone. I still feel like a bumbling 22 year old half the time.

Ignoring: The pile of magazines on the coffee table. I'm happy to report I did get rid of one... of 30.

Doing: Once a week I'm working the front desk of a yoga studio in Hell's Kitchen. I check people in, clean mats, sell them coconut waters, and in return I get unlimited free yoga. #win

Missing: The ability to get up and function on 4 hours of sleep as if nothing happened.

Sensing: That my life is only getting better. Even though at time I still feel like I'm faking it 'til I make it, I also feel like life is a fine wine and just keeps getting better.

Starting: To really step into my role as an "adult".

What have you been up to?

  2. Bahahaha! You're going to have to confess the Pokemon thing to all the people you called losers on FB. I actually downloaded it, too. I really like the concept, but I can't stand walking around outside with my nose buried in my phone. We went to the dog park last night, and I felt like such a dick, so I gave up and just chatted with the people at the park like usual. Plus, walking dogs while on your phone? Nuh uh. It takes them about 2 seconds to wrap the leashes around my legs. Attention required.

I'm so glad things are going well with your business!!!

  3. I love your honesty and I'm so proud of you for working for yourself and following your dreams.I haven't given into Pokemon Go - yet. Trying to catch up on my stack of magazines too. Homeownership is a money pit so my clothes shopping has haulted, but it feels good to feel like I got my sh*t together.

  5. Yeah, books and I aren't getting along great either. Working on EPL but mostly just reading on the bus for a few minutes until I get distracted and start texting or redditing instead. Boo. Trying to make a more concerted effort this week.

Happy your business is going so well! So proud of you and excited for what's to come! When things level off a little bit over here I can't wait to come to a class at your studio with you :)

  6. Glad to hear that business is going well!!! I downloaded Pokemon Go but I dont understand it? I think I might have been too old when Pokemon was popular to understand it now. Shark Tank always makes me want to come up with the next biggest thing so I can get someone like Mark or Daymond to invest in my business!!! And ummm I have about a million magazines that keep piling up too. I have got to just take a weekend and plow through them!

  7. I'm so glad that business is going well! I don't have Pokemon go but it's mostly because I don't have unlimited data & currently have iffy wi-fi. Not because I'm above it lol. I have intentions of playing when I get back to Fort Worth.

  8. Love Triple D. My reading rut continues, but I'm reading a fluffy one now to help get myself out of it. Unlimited free yoga for one night of work? That's awesome! And congrats on the business! Sounds like it's going great!

  9. Congrats on business starting to pick up. And free yoga for a one day a week job? I should find a studio here where I can do that! Pokemon Go is my shit. I'm a gamer girl at heart so I just HAVE to catch em all.
