Fab Fit Fun

Back in January Nikki posted about receiving her first box from FabFitFun. It was something I had been seeing pop up on Facebook for several weeks so when her post came it was the kick I needed to go ahead and give it a try on my own.

Upon signing up I was told I'd be receiving the Editor Box. Apparently this is the first box that all new members receive. I was perfectly fine with this because after seeing Nikki's, there were a lot of items I was hoping to get.

As with any of these subscription services, there's a brief survey you fill out. I'm not really sure why because I don't think it has anything to do with what you actually get, but what do I know! This box retailed at $257.98 so it's definitely a good value for how much the subscription is. Here's what I got:

The Created Co. Travel mug
I use this constantly. It's black, which I like and the phrase is perfect for my morning commute. Added bonus, the company donates 10% of its profits to a charity that helps bring clean water to those in need.

Loch and Key Blanket scarf by Modcloth
A girl can never have too many scarves, right? I haven't opened this because we're nearing the end of scarf season {I'm hoping} and also because I truly don't need another scarf. I'm thinking it will be a nice Christmas gift...

Jook & Nona "Happy" bar necklace by
This is cute and I like the idea of it. I'm still deciding whether I want to keep it or not. And even as I type that I can hear Steph in my ear telling me to get rid of it if I'm even debating whether I want it or not.

"Rue" nail polish by Zoya
Zoya is a great 5-free vegan polish. I won't use this though because I only get gel manicures. Anyone want this? I will happily mail it to you! It's a pretty beige-pink color.

Beach Butter Body Cream by Anderson Lilley
This smells amazing. I wanted to hoard it because that's just what I do, but I've been trying to use it before bed.

Marrakesh Argan & Hemp Hair Oil
I was excited to see this because I'm obsessed with this scent. It's technically "fragrance free" but I feel this oil has its own scent and I love it. it's not as thick as I was expecting it to be, which is good since it's a spray, but for my hair, I feel like I could easily go through the entire bottle in a week. It left my hair feeling soft and had a nice scent but I didn't notice anything remarkable.

Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Gloss in "Lucky"
I was excited to try this because I've been trying to branch out and where things other than ChapStick. Unfortunately, this isn't for me. It goes on smooth (satin) and feels great but this color and I do not get along.

FabFitFun Coloring book and colored pencils
Although I think this is cute I have absolutely NO use for it and will be donating it to a friend who has a planner group with her third graders.

O.R.G. Skincare Mineral Peel
I haven't tried this yet but I'm looking forward to it because it's easy to use. You spray it on and then massage it off. It's said to extract dermal debris and dead skin in seconds".

I'll be honest, as of typing this, I haven't really used anything I received except the coffee mug, lotion, and the hair serum. I immediately decided to give them another shot to see what I would receive in box #2 but ultimately, I anticipate cancelling. At $50 the box is more than I want to spend for products I've never heard of or used.

Are you a FabFitFun member? Are you considering it?

  1. I am, in fact, whispering 'get rid of it.' If it's on the maybe train, it's just halfway out the door. Push it all the way out!
I thought it was a little rich for my blood too. It does look like all really nice stuff, but I hate taking a gamble that I won't use things and waste the money.

  2. I haven't ever gotten their box, & while the stuff is nice, I don't think I could ever justify the $50. Because like you, I probably wouldn't be using most of it & then I'd be sitting there with a $50 mug & maybe 1 or 2 other things. That's my biggest hold up on any subscription box though. I've tried Stitch Fix 3 times now & am debating trying Vynl but I've never done any others.
