Three on Thursday

1| Family Ties

Did you guys know Nicolas Cage is Francis Ford Coppola's nephew?! Jason Schwartzman too. I got lost in Wikipedia looking at the Coppola family tree the other day and this info kind of just blew my mind. I guess I just feel like for being part of such a legendary family {his real last name IS Coppola} he'd be a better actor...  then again, they're kind of a family of directors.

2| External Life

J has this external battery for his phone and it's pretty awesome. I've had it in my Amazon cart for the longest but when I was about to buy it, decided to hold off and see what was good with Prime Day. I'm glad I did because I got it for under $19 {from $26}. This little baby fits in my pocket and charges super quick. I guess what I'm saying is, meet my new BFF.

3| Haters

I was reading this Refinery29 article the other day about the most hated thing in each state and they compiled some info about the most hated things in all 50 states. Not surprisingly, NY hates Times Square and Massachesetts hates Eli Manning {hahahahaha}. But some of the things were just weird. WV hates Lyft. NV hates feminism. GA hates tuna salad.... seriously, go check it out.

Keeping up With Life

After I read Steph's post about how she keeps up with life I knew I needed to borrow this idea for two reasons. 1) it's post material; and more importantly 2) it forced me to not be a couch potato as soon as I got home from work most nights.

I made sure to monitor an "average" week {read: no special events}. Here's a look at how I've been doing life lately.

When I say I'm walking to work from Penn, know that it's no a 2 block jaunt. Penn is on 33/34th and 8th. My office is on 53rd and Lex. It's a nice 30 minute walk.

I'm kind of sad that this was the last massage in my commitment but I am overjoyed to not have that monthly fee anymore.

I'm just going to say it - I hope Amtrak takes their sweet ass time resolving these issues at Penn Station. My morning commute has become an absolute breeze.

I can hardly believe it myself - I drafted blog posts.

The great thing about working overtime on Wednesdays is that I get a $40 lunch credit with Seamless. Basically, if I'm craving something super specific {Thai; Vietnamese; Greek...}, I order it then. And because I'm smart, I spread the $40 out to cover the entire day.

There were well over 100 vendors and I made a point to try ones I've never been to {skipping the cider ones}... which left me quite a few booths to stop at. I'd say I hit 90% of those.

As you can see my weeks are typically busy and boring all at the same time. What about you? What's the highlight of your average week?

Three on Thursday

Another week in the books. At this point I'm ready to deem 2017 'The Year That Didn't Exist" because it's going by so quickly. In any event, here are some things I'm sharing.

1| Instagram

I read this in an email I got from Social Fabric and I found it interesting enough to share with y'all. Because who doesn't love useless information?

Fun Fact: The top filters in the world are Clarendon, Juno, and Gingham.
The Clarendon filter – Instagrammers’ top favorite filter intensifies shadows and brightens the highlights in your photos. It makes them beautifully saturated. This filter looks great with images where you want the colors to pop. It was originally a video-only filter.

2| DNA

Anyone who knows me IRL knows that I absolutely despise being asked, what is to me, one of the rudest questions possible - what are you?

First of all asshole, I'm a human being. Specifically, a 32-year old female human being. Anything more and we had better be some semblance of friends for you to inquire further.

3| Netflix

I don't know about you but although I happily pay for this service every month, I'm usually disappointed by the options. Netflix has gone the way of TV and it feels impossible to watch movies, let alone ones that are remotely current.

In any event, here are the things I'm excited they're adding this month:

Free Willy
Madagascar 2
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
The Land Before Time I, II, and III
Police Academy

Do you notice a pattern??

June in Numbers

While playing blog catch up forever ago I read Miranda's post about how her month went and really liked the style of the post. So I stole borrowed it.

17 - The number of new beers I tried

0 - The number of pounds I lost

1 - The number of times I went to the gym

4 - The number of happy hours I attended

7 - The amount of blog posts published

9 - The number of times I caved and took Uber/Lyft    FML....

6495 {or something close to that} - The number of snuggles I gave my cats

1 - The number of times I bought stickers

2 - Number of times I lost my temper

8 - The number of boards I deleted from Pinterest

25 - The number of accounts I unfollowed on Pinterest  {honestly, I'm so tired of the stuff that pops up on my Pinterest feed when I even log on that I'm strongly considering deleting my account entirely}

And that sums up June!
